Dr Wong graduated from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Medicine in 1989. He was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1994 and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1999. He was then awarded the Ministry of Health HMDP Scholarship to train at the University of Pittsburgh and the UPMC Centre for Sports Medicine, specialising in treatment in disorders of the Foot and Ankle. Subsequent to his fellowship, Dr Wong went on to complete a Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University, focusing on Orthopaedic Biomechanics, Sports Engineering, and Rehabilitation Engineering. He also won an award for Outstanding Project Dissertation for his work in Ankle Prosthesis design for the treatment for ankle and subtalar joint arthritis.
